Office Administrator/Dental Hygienist
After graduating from Western Kentucky University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree, Michelle moved to Owensboro to practice in the general dentistry setting as a licensed dental hygienist. In 2000, she married Dr. Greg Adams and began working in his periodontal practice. For close to 30 years, Michelle has held the role of hygienist, public relations coordinator, and currently office administrator for Adams & Whitt Periodontics. She also holds a license to deliver local anesthetic, is laser disinfection certified, and is a CPR instructor teaching Basic Life Support and First Aid through the American Heart Association. She is also certified in ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and is the Medical Emergency officer of the practice. Michelle is also the owner and operator of Annie’s CPR Training, LLC teaching CPR and lecturing on Medical Emergencies for the Dental Office (KY Board of Dentistry Approved), OSHA, and office administration. With a high standard for customer service, communication, and satisfaction: Michelle strives to maintain a relaxing, comfortable, and efficient office environment for all.

Administrative Assistant
Since 2015, Patty has been a member of our team, bringing with her over 35 years of experience in customer service. Prior to joining the Adams & Whitt team, Patty held positions as office administrator and supervisor and served on numerous state level committees. As office administrative assistant, she helps our office to run smoothly and efficiently and her warm, inviting, and outgoing personality helps all to feel welcome to our practice. Patty is also part of our public relations team and coordinates the Spear Doctor Study Club and Continuing Education Events and is certified in CPR/First Aid and Basic Life Support.

Jeannie Mattingly, RDH
Dental Hygienist/ OSHA Officer
Jeannie has been practicing dental hygienist for our team since 2006. She is a 2006 graduate of Henderson Community College where she received her associate’s degree becoming a licensed Dental Hygienist. Jeannie is certified to perform laser disinfection, is licensed to deliver local anesthetic, is a CPR Basic Life Support and First Aid Healthcare provider and is certified in Advanced Life Support. With over 30 years of experience in the dental field, Jeannie started her career in dentistry as a Certified Dental Assistant. She provides excellent dental hygiene care to our patients and never meets a stranger. Jeannie also lectures on OSHA and Bloodborne Pathogens and is the OSHA Officer for our practice helping to maintain a safe office environment for our team and patients. Jeannie is also a member of our public relations team and loves serving our patients and the dental community.

Dental Hygienist
A 2017 graduate of Henderson Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene, Sara has been with our team since 2018. She is licensed to deliver local anesthetic, is certified in laser disinfection, and is a certified in both CPR Basic Life Support and First Aid Healthcare Provider and ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. Sara provides care to our patients not only as a hygienist but assists the doctors in surgical care as well. Sara’s skills and caring personality help patients feel at ease when they are under her care and she strives for excellence in all she does

Treatment Coordinator
In February of 2016, Christine joined our team, bringing a wealth of knowledge in insurance and finances. With over 30 years of patient care experience in the healthcare field, Christine helps to guide patients through the insurance and financial process with ease. With constant changes in insurance regulations and benefits, Christine continues to stay up to date through continuing education courses and research. She is a member of our public relations team, is a CPR/First Aid and Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider and goes the extra mile to ensure your experience at our office is the best.

Treatment Coordinator/Clinical Assistant
With over 16 years in customer service, Cordie brings not only experience in finance but in patient care due to her background as a certified nurse assistant. With her variety of skills, you may see Cordie in the front area assisting patients, or in the clinical setting providing patient care. Blending her business and medical experience, Cordie guides patients through the treatment plan and finance process with ease. She has been a team member since 2020 and is certified in dental radiography, IV placement, Basic Life Support CPR and First Aid as well as ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support with the American Heart Association. Her smile, politeness, and positive attitude put all patients at ease.

Scheduling Coordinator
With over 25 years of experience in customer service, Marcia joined our team in April of 2017. As patient scheduling coordinator, Marcia handles our new patient process and is always ready to assist you with any of your scheduling needs. She is organized and efficient in guiding patients and referring offices, making the referral process a breeze. Marcia is a CPR First Aid and Basic Life Support healthcare provider and looks forward to speaking with you soon!

Treatment Coordinator
Jenn joined our team as a Treatment Coordinator, bringing over ten years of experience in customer service, leadership, sales, and patient relations. With a strong background in management, communication, and problem-solving, she helps guide patients through the scheduling, treatment, and financial process with confidence and ease. Jenn is passionate about providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming experience for every patient who visits our office. Her dedication to organization, communication, and patient support makes her a valuable part of our team.

Surgical Assistant
In October of 2015, Natalie joined our team as a surgical assistant. She has over 30 years of experience in the medical field and obtained an associate’s degree in science from Owensboro Community and Technical College. Natalie is also a Certified Nurse Assistant and is certified in dental radiography, IV placement, coronal polishing, CPR/First Aid and Basic Life Support and ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. With her organization and skills, she helps to smoothly guide patients through the surgical process with great care.

Megan Powers
Surgical Assistant/Clinical Coordinator
With over 15 years of experience in the medical field, Megan brings organization and attention to detail in all that she does. She is certified in dental radiography, IV placement, coronal polishing, CPR/First Aid and Basic Life Support, and ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. Megan has been with our practice since 2021, quickly learning and advancing in her skills as a dental surgical assistant. As our clinical coordinator, Megan ensures all patients are guided through the treatment process efficiently and in an organized and safe environment.

Social Media Coordinator/Surgical Assistant
Ella has been a valued part of the practice for over five years, bringing energy, creativity, and clinical support to the team. She currently serves as both Social Media Coordinator and Surgical Assistant, balancing her roles in digital outreach and patient care. Ella is pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree at the University of Kentucky, with plans to graduate in May 2026. Following graduation, she intends to continue her education in dentistry and pursue a career in the field. She is certified in CPR through the American Heart Association, dental radiology, and is passionate about patient education, dental health, and helping create a welcoming, professional environment both in person and online.

Surgical Assistant
Anna joined our team in 2025 as a surgical assistant, bringing a bright personality, kindness, and positive energy to the practice. She provides chairside support during surgical procedures and has experience in dental radiography, instrument sterilization, and creating a safe, organized clinical environment for both patients and providers. Anna is certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid and Basic Life Support and is currently expanding her clinical skills through IV placement and recently received her certification. She is passionate about patient care and helps create a welcoming, professional experience for every patient who visits our office.

Sophia
Support Puppy
Meet Sophia, our “star employee” and beloved support puppy! Born in 2020, Sophia has been bringing smiles, comfort, and joy to both our patients and team ever since. She loves naps, treats, and watching the world go by from a cozy spot in our upstairs office. Sophia has a big heart and an even bigger personality — she’s always ready to say a friendly hello and make your visit more relaxing. Whether she’s greeting patients or lounging near the upstairs window, Sophia is truly the right-hand pup in our practice family.
*Sophia’s office is located upstairs in our practice, and she will visit you only upon request. Due to the sterilization and disinfection process, she isn’t allowed in during surgical procedures.
